Spa Academy offers multiple types of classes depending on the needs and ambition of our students. The types of classes, material requirements, and accommodation recommendations are explained below.
Full-time courses require attendance five days per week for the full length of the course (excluding holidays) and include hundreds of hours of practical experience and instruction. These courses are designed for those who would like to pursue a diploma. Students attending these courses will know the subject material inside and out. End dates for these classes are tentative because each student will have service and hour quotas that they must complete. Full-time courses are eligible for RESPs and some students may qualify for government financial assistance.
Part-time classes take place on specific dates and are generally shorter and more specifically targeted. These courses are designed for those who simply cannot commit to a full-time course, or those with existing training looking to gain a new skill-set. As opposed to the full-time courses, part-time students will be expected to practice significantly outside the Academy between class days.
Requirements differ from class to class. Every class requires a nonrefundable deposit/administration fee upon enrollment. For classes that require a kit, implements, or equipment, this means that the student must supply the described items. All required materials, tools, etc. may be purchased from Spa Academy or Best Buy Esthetics beforehand, or on the day of the class. Please contact us if you have specific questions about any of the class requirements as we would be happy to assist you.
Accommodation has been negotiated at the Saskatoon Travelodge at a discount rate for Spa Academy students. The Travelodge is located just nine blocks north of the Academy. Simply mention Spa Academy when registering your room to receive the discounted rate.
