PROFESSIONAL NAIL TECHNOLOGY

Graduates of our nail technology program will be proficient in the full spectrum of artificial nail enhancements.
The Nail Technology program focuses and equal amount on both full sets and monthly fills. Students will be instructed in several different techniques, including UV gels and odourless powder-liquid acrylic systems. This will enable the student to provide options when dealing with even the most demanding spa and salon clientele. Our comprehensive training program allows students to concentrate on the skills that are essential to immediate success upon graduation.

- Fibreglass

Theory takes place on the first day, with the following four utilizing practical application. The sixth day includes the written and practical exam.

MANICURES

Beautiful, healthy, and natural nails will always be in style!
The Manicures class covers professional manicures and therapeutic hand & nail treatments, including hot oil and hot lotion manicures. Deep moisture masks and intensive spa treatments as well as minor nail repairs are also introduced. There is a heavy focus on sanitation, disinfection, anatomy, diseases, and disorders. The full range of relative professional implements and products will also be explored.

PEDICURES

An introduction to basic pedicures.
The Pedicures class teaches the professional pedicure, including the removal of corns and calluses, massage techniques, proper use of implements, product knowledge, and problem solving for abused feet. There is also a focus on anatomy, nail diseases and disorders, sanitation, and disinfection. Theme pedicures such as "strawberry milkshake" and "chocolate peppermint" will be explored to jazz-up traditional offerings.

DIABETIC & GERIATRIC FOOT CARE

This One day advanced class concentrates on footcare techniques required by a specific client base: the geriatric or diabetic foot. Understanding common problems allows better service of clients and bolsters business growth by attracting clients that may not be able to take care of such foot care themselves.
Poor eyesight and thickened toenails often creates problems and uneccessary injury for older clients. Diabetic foot syndrome is a specific condition that affects many diabetic clients. Understanding these conditions and limitations allows technicians to aid in maintaining the health of the client's feet while providing the regular monitoring that is required for healthy feet.
Electric filing, ingrown nail braces, and toenail reconstruction will all be discussed throughout the class, but practical application will be dependent on the model that the student brings to class.

LIGHT CURED FRENCH & COLOURED POLISH

Designed for the professional manicurist and pedicurist, however, previous pedicure knowledge is not required.
The classic French manicure and pedicure have both endured generations of fads and are still in hot demand! No more waiting for polish to dry. Socks, shoes, and gloves will never ruin a fabulous paint job again. Light-cured colours provide unsurpassed results that can last up to 8 weeks between touch-ups. Students will learn the correct application of the French manicure & pedicure, as well as full colour polish and basic nail-art techniques.

TRADITIONAL NAIL ARTISTRY

Get creative with fast and easy techniques that will dazzle your clients!
Our nail artistry class delves into all nail art techniques and products available to the professional. Focus will be on basic painting techniques, colour theory, customized designs, and all aspects of artistry including light-cured gels, polish-secured applications, and traditional hand-painting.
Live demonstration will be performed so that students may view the techniques used to create the nail art in an up-close environment. The class also offers invaluable hands-on practice with the support of the educator and, of course, access to our large array of nail art supplies. This enables our students to create personal designs and thus helps to entice clients into taking the plunge into designer nails.

FACE & BODY
LUSCIOUS LASHES

Long, luscious eyelashes that can last a week or more, stunning and long-lasting perms, and eyebrow & eyelash tinting. These services are extremely popular with bridal, graduation, and holiday clientele, and this course teaches them all!
This class teaches eyelash perming for great lashes that stay curled even when wet! Students in this class will learn eyelash and eyebrow tinting as well, with a focus on safe and proper application of permanent colour (lasts 3-6 weeks). Client safety, proper colour selection, and professional techniques catered to the individual client are also covered. Eyebrow shaping is also be introduced. Finally, the course delves into proper techniques to apply individual, cluster, and strip lashes using both 24 hour and permanent adhesives. Proper removal and disinfection techniques are also covered, as are client education, loyalty building, and marketing strategies.

BODY & FACIAL WAXING

Hair removal is one of the most popular spa treatments!
During this class, students will learn the proper techniques to remove hair from all facial areas, legs, underarms, and the traditional bikini areas. Focus will be on both traditional strip waxing and hard (strip-free) waxing techniques. Alternative methods will be discussed but not learned. The class also spends considerable time on product knowledge and waxing etiquette for both men and women.

FACIALS & SKIN-CARE THERAPY

An intensive class exploring skin-care.
This comprehensive course teaches the student to accurately analyze skin, provide customized facial treatments, and give proper home-care advice. Beyond just the facial, this class thoroughly covers skin structure, tissue biology, skin types, skin conditions, facial treatment procedures, and massage techniques. Students will learn the art of skin analysis and how to recommend and create a home-care package for each individual client. Each student will have access to our professional facial equipment (steamers and hot towel cabinets, as well as high-frequency and galvanic current machines). The highest level of sanitation, disinfection, and sterilization is also emphasized.

The topics covered in this class include trends, special occasion make-up, and classic looks, as well as the proper application techniques required to give clients the professional, polished, long-lasting results that they demand. Specific topics include face shapes, skeletal structure, colour analysis, proper product selection, corrective colour veils, brush selection, as well as sanitation and disinfection. Product knowledge will focus on concealing flaws to enhance the client's natural beauty.
